Katrina Liao

Katrina Liao is a senior at Concordia University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music. Katrina is the principal pianist of the Concordia Symphony Orchestra, with whom she completed a tour to St. Louis in Spring 2023. She is also a collaborative pianist in the Concordia Chamber Music Ensemble, a member of the Concordia Choir and Concert Handbells, and she serves as a chapel organist, music department tutor, and choir secretary. Katrina has performed with Concordia’s music ensembles at many local and out-of-state venues, including the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.

Katrina regularly directs the sanctuary worship band at Trinity United Presbyterian Church Santa Ana, playing piano, electric bass, and organ. She has participated in the vocal and handbell choirs as well.

Katrina is also a nine-year recipient of the Orange County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (OCAGO) Study Grant, which awards lesson scholarships to young local organ students.

Katrina is a native of Orange County and has been teaching piano for several years. Katrina values how music allows performers to express themselves and bring people together. In lessons, Katrina desires to help her students find the songs they love, grow in their confidence of playing, and develop their passion for music.
