Micaela Lum is passionate about helping students find joy in making music and sharing it with
others. From her own experience, Micaela knows the value of having a teacher who can inspire,
challenge, and encourage students in their musical growth. As a teacher, she strives to fulfill
that role for others.
Micaela graduated from Biola University with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a
Bachelor of Science in Music in Worship. She has been awarded top prizes at competitions
such as the American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition, the Southern California Junior
Bach Festival, the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, and Biola’s Honors Concerto
Competition. In 2019, Micaela was honored to perform in an honors recital at Carnegie Hall.
Aside from teaching and performing, Micaela actively serves in several churches as a pianist,
organist, and conductor. She is also on staff at Grace Hills Church as the traditional worship
